Revlon Colorstay VS Maybelline Superstay... VS!

here are my opinions on Revlon colorstay and Maybelline Superstay...

with all the hype around these two products i knew i wanted to try them both. i am extremely picky with my makeup and even more so with my foundation, i have sensitive dry/normal skin. i want something that was going to last all day with a medium to full coverage so naturally i decided to try these...

Revlon Colorstay:  i have color 150 buff for normal/dry skin.

this foundation has two different formulas one for normal/dry skin and one for combination/oily skin. i think their color selection is pretty good for a drugstore brand, it says to have "softflex" and an SPF of 15 ( the higher the SPF the the more of a white or pale cast your face will have in photos even more so with the flash so i recommend that if you know you will be getting your picture taken for whatever reason you use a foundation with no SPF or very little) I found this foundation to be VERY heavy, didn't blend super easy and dried really fast, so it made blending even more of a pain. i found mixing it with a thinner foundation made blending easier.  the coverage is REALLY good with this even with out a concealer.  it did last all day and i didn't see any creasing or flaking which is always good. i did use this with the setting powder, it didn't really add to the coverage which is ok because this doesn't need help in that department. the powder is good if your looking for a setting powder just to throw in your bag for touch ups, if you looking for a powder that's more of a powder foundation this isn't for you it'll keep you matte but no coverage really at all.

Maybelline Superstay: i have color sand beige
this foundation only has one formula for all skin types, the color selection is way smaller and i found it harder to find a good match. it says to have "micro-flex" no transfer 24hour wear no SPF so no white cast ,so great for nights out with lots of picture taking. i LOVE this foundation the coverage is great medium to full. its not super thick i found it easy to blend, it does dry faster then most foundations but not so fast its hard to work with. it didn't feel super heavy of cakey on my skin, and wore all day. i did use the purestay powder foundation over this and it gave me even more coverage and looked very pretty. i haven't tried this powder alone but if your looking for something with a little more coverage then a normal setting powder this is one of the better drugstore powders that i have tried.

if i had to pick between these two hands down id pick superstay. it lasts just as long but i found it easier to blend with out that heavy feeling. the color selection is smaller and there is only one formulation, but i think at least for normal to try skin this is the better choice for at least me. both these foundation are around 8 to 11 dollars depending on where you live and where you buy them. also remember if you go and pick one of these up and don't like it most store have a no questions asked return policy even if the product has been slightly used.:-)
